600 Highwaymen at St. Ann’s

Summer Artists-in-Residence
Hosted by The Forum @ St. Ann’s
Open Rehearsal Showings of “The Fever”
June 30, July 8, 14, and 22, 2016, 7:00 pm
The Forum @ St. Ann’s is pleased to host 600 HIGHWAYMEN as artists-in-residence this summer. Their six-week residency in the Parish Hall of St. Ann & the Holy Trinity Church in Brooklyn Heights will provide them an opportunity to create their upcoming work “The Fever,” which will debut in January 2017.
“The Fever” is a new performance that brings spectator and performer together inside a true story of ritual and cruelty. Who will you be when you are the one in charge? What story will you create to explain what you did? 600 HIGHWAYMEN’s latest work, “The Fever,” examines how we assemble, organize and care for our bodies, and the bodies around us. Is it possible to feel the pain of others? How have we become who we are? What will become of us, and will we be all right?
As part of the group’s residency, 600 HIGHWAYMEN will present four showings of “The Fever” at 7:00 pm on June 30 and July 8, 14, and 22. These showings are “open rehearsal-style,” an opportunity for the artists and an audience to come together around a work in formation. Seats are free and open to the public. To reserve, visit Eventbrite. A donation at the door of $5 per reservation is encouraged to help sponsor The Forum’s upcoming programming year and can be paid by cash, check, or credit card. A Forum reception will follow in the garden.
600 HIGHWAYMEN, creates original performances that offer new ways of seeing for today. Led by Brooklyn theater artists Abigail Browde and Michael Silverstone, their Obie Award-winning work has been lauded by The New Yorker, The New York Times, Village Voice, Flavorpill, and Time Out New York. They have made six acclaimed productions since 2009.
