St. Ann’s Hosts as Festival Partner and Presenter of
BOOKEND EVENTS @ St. Ann’s
St. Ann & the Holy Trinity is pleased to be a Cultural and Programming Partner of the Brooklyn Book Festival and is once again hosting some of its most major events on Sunday, September 21, after our 11:15 am service.
In conjunction with the festival, we also have been invited to host three of our own “Bookend Events” at St. Ann’s in the week prior. Here’s the calendar of presentations. Please plan to attend.

A Smarter Charter: Charter Schools and Public Education in New York City featuring Richard D. Kahlenberg and (St. Ann’s own!) Halley Potter (Taylor) of The Century Foundation presenting their new book on the future of charter schools, A Smarter Carter: Finding What Works for Charter Schools and Public Education. They will be joined by Sabha Rohani, community development director of Community Roots Charter School, and Vasti Acosta, principal of Amber Charter School. A reception follows.

Out Words: New Memoirs by Queer Authors featuring Kenneth Walsh (kennethinthe212.com) presenting Wasn’t Tomorrow Wonderful?, Kate Fagan (ESPN journalist), presenting The Reappearing Act, and Annie Lanzillotto (poet and performer) presenting L is for Lion: An Italian Bronx Butch Freedom Memoir. The panel and discussion will be moderated by Brian Vines.
