Celebrating Women’s History Month

March is Women’s History Month, which St. Ann & the Holy Trinity Church has a great tradition of marking. In addition to weekly special mentions of unsung heroines, we once again will host an in-person presentation this year. On Sunday, March 19, at 1:00 pm, St. Ann’s will welcome Martha Foley, archivist and historian for the Brooklyn Women’s Exchange (BWE) to talk about the volunteer-run, neighborhood operation that has supported local craftspeople, initially immigrant women and widows, since 1834. The BWE recently moved to Montague Street from its longtime location on Pierrepont Street. The event will be preceded with a light lunch in the parish hall at 12:30 pm, followed by our conversation with Ms. Foley and some of the BWE leadership. Please join us in person or through livestreaming on St. Ann’s YouTube channel!

Please check out this year’s unsung heroines, posted weekly, and read about seven years’ of previous celebrations of Women’s History Month at St. Ann’s here.
