Coat Drive is St. Ann’s Fall Outreach Focus
Fall is upon us and the temperatures is dropping – and you won’t be surprised to know that many of our neighbors will not have a warm coat to face the cold.
For our fall outreach focus, St. Ann & the Holy Trinity invites members and friends to participate in the New York Cares Coat Drive right at our church.
The New York Cares Coat Drive takes place annually and provides warm winter coats to men, women, and children who would otherwise go without them. Last year, 123,000 people received gently used, freshly laundered coats when they needed them most. By donating even a single coat, you will make a big difference in someone’s life.
Please bring in clean, warm coats in good condition and place them in one of the boxes in the church narthex (front entrance) and Parish Hall. The boxes are available for coat drops anytime the church is open, including Sunday mornings and from 12 noon to 2:00 pm during the week. You may also bring donations to 157 Montague Street on weekdays from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Coats will be delivered to New York Cares on behalf of St. Ann & the Holy Trinity before Thanksgiving. Many will be blessed by your generous participation in this effort.
And please remember our weekly Sandwich Sundays program!
There are many ways to get involved. You can make one or more sandwiches at home and drop them off between our two Sunday services, from 10:00 to11:15 am. You can join the team of labelers and packers – and engage in the most fun and interesting conversation you’ll have all week! Or you can drop a donation in the Sandwich Sunday Donation Can at the front entrance of the church and our team will buy the fixins’ and make sandwiches for you. The sandwiches are delivered to CAMBA who distributes them to their homeless residents and other guests of The Gathering Place, their East Brooklyn drop-in center.
