Death Valley: Desolation, Splendor and How to Capture it All with Gregory D’Agostino

Death Valley is simply one of the most magnificent places on Earth. It is known for its extreme heat (last August the temperature reached 130 degrees), but it is so much more than a hot desert. This 3,000 square mile National Park is unique by virtue of its contrasting and stunning terrain and variety of robust species, and is a photographer’s dream location. Reaching parts of the park are fairly easy, whereas reaching others can be quite challenging. Gregory will share his adventures in Death Valley including his visits to remote locations, and offer helpful advice on how to prepare to visit and shoot in this desert environment.

Gregory D’Agostino (Instagram: @gregdag) is a fine art, landscape, and street photographer based in New York City. He has a passion for shooting in remote locations of stark beauty. In search of extreme and contrasting environments, he has photographed various locations north of the Arctic Circle as well as remote areas of Death Valley. Gregory’s photos have won various awards and have been exhibited in galleries in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Houston, and Glasgow.

Gregory is also an accomplished organist and serves as Director of Music and Organist of St. Ann & the Holy Trinity Church and Pro-Cathedral in Brooklyn Heights.
