A distinguished panel discussed My Name is Pauli Murray, a documentary of the extraordinary life of Pauli Murray, after its screening in the sanctuary on Sunday, June 12. The panelists were film co-director Julie Cohen, the Rev. Kit Wang (who appeared remotely from his home in Maine) and New York City-based trans activist Qween Jean. The moderator was the Rev. Marie Tatro. Murray, the first Black woman to be ordained in the Episcopal Church, was a legal trailblazer. The documentary portrays Murray’s impact as a non-binary Black luminary, lawyer, activist, poet, and priest, who transformed our world. The film is available on Amazon and is highly recommended.
