Sunday, November 2 – 1:00 pm

All are welcome and encouraged to participate in a Neighborhood Prayer Walk in Brooklyn Heights on Sunday, November 2, following the 11:15 am Holy Eucharist.

Our Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Lawrence Provenzano, has encouraged the parishes in the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island to organize prayer walks in anticipation of this year’s diocesan convention that has as its theme, “Walk in Love, as Christ Loved Us.”

The diocesan leadership describes the effort this way:

A Neighborhood Prayer Walk is an easy, energizing and enlightening way to deepen church community, discover what God is up to in the neighborhood, and imagine afresh how you can embody the gospel in your parish.

Once upon a time, clergy and lay leaders regularly walked the “bounds” of their parishes (many of you still do!). We’re welcoming the whole diocese to take up this practice this fall, to learn together and then gather to share stories, images and inspiration at Diocesan Convention.

St. Ann’s Prayer Walk will be led by Associate Rector, Deacon Kate Salisbury, with help from several others, who will take us to numerous points of historic and spiritual interest throughout Brooklyn Heights. On Marathon Sunday, think of a walk through the neighborhood as the next best thing to a run through the five boroughs – and join us!
