Sept. Outreach: Food Pantry

Food Pantry Push
Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013,
and Weekdays
The Outreach Committee’s focus in September is our ever-in-demand food pantry, which needs a seasonal boost. This Sunday is our final push to bring pantry donations to church.
People seeking food come to our door regularly, and our clergy and staff help bag up available pantry items for them. Since many of those in need are either homeless or lack a facility to cook or prepare food, donations of canned goods (with pull tops only!) and easy-to-manage and nutritious items like peanut butter and individual servings of crackers are the most welcome. Ravioli and Vienna sausages are often requested.
Keeping the pantry stocked is a continuing challenge. We hope you’ll join us in this effort by bringing your donations to church over the next two Sundays — September 15 and 22 — or dropping them off at 157 Montague Street on weekdays.
And please note, although our pantry closet will be unavailable during the Parish House renovation, the pantry program will continue to operate in the church. So, your contributions of non-perishable food are always welcome!
