Sandwich Sundays Turns Two!

Sunday, June 21, 10:15 am and 12:30 pm

On Sunday, June 21, join the celebration of two years’ of Sandwich Sundays, a ministry that began as a Lenten outreach and gained too much momentum to stop! Since February 2013, the Outreach Committee and their team of volunteers have made and delivered between 40 and 120 sandwiches every single Sunday. That’s more than 4,000 sandwiches so far!

Following each of our two Sunday services on June 21, first at 10:15 am and again at 12:30 pm, we’ll form an assembly line of sandwich makers in the Parish Hall. If you can, bring a donation of sliced bread, sliced cheese or cold cuts – or just stop by the tables to celebrate this hunger action ministry and help make or label sandwiches.

The many sandwiches we make that day will be delivered, as usual, to the guests of the Gathering Place, a drop-in center program of CAMBA in East Brooklyn that serves the homeless and working poor. This special event is a great opportunity to do good and have fun at the same time as we strive to be the church by connecting to the needs of the world!
