St. Francis Day

Celebrating St. Francis Day
Sunday, October 4, 2015
Early Church, 9:30 am
Holy Eucharist, 11:15 am
Blessing of the Animals, 1:30 pm
St. Ann’s will commemorate the feast of St. Francis of Assisi in several ways. First we’ll welcome members of the 9:30 am Early Church congregation to bring real live or stuffed animals to be blessed during the service. Our former Pastoral Associate Matthew Leaycraft will offer a reflection at this service and preach at the 11:15 am Holy Eucharist. After the later service, Matt invites us to a coffee-hour discussion of the life and legacy of St. Francis.
For our finale, all are welcome to gather with our neighbors and their many varieties of pets for the fifth annual Blessing of the Animals at 1:30 pm in the North Garden on Clinton Street! Prayers of remembrance for beloved deceased pets will also be offered.
Tell a friend and join us in a community celebration of all God’s creatures!
