Health concerns prevented us from holding a traditional service this year, but the annual Interfaith 9/11 observance was no less meaningful. The alternative 9/11 commemoration took place on the Brooklyn Heights Promenade, organized by Brooklyn Heights Interfaith Clergy Association co-presidents, our own Mo. Kate Salisbury and the Rev. Adriene Thorne, senior pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Brooklyn. Those attending were invited to leave a written tribute on the fence. In our socially distant, but still sacred way, we honored those we lost.
