On Sunday, September 15, St. Ann’s launched a new program, Instruments of Peace, an original, arts-based, multi-general curriculum conceived by our clergy and funded by a diocesan grant. It was designed for parishioners and neighbors of all ages to celebrate the life and legacy of St. Francis and his concern for peace building. The program culminated in a festive Feast of St. Francis, Sunday, October 6. The Sunday School children in particular were busy over the four weeks exploring the legacy of Saint Francis of Assisi and the Franciscan tradition of peace making by making puppets of birds and one of the Wolf of Gubbio. They also created an original song in the tradition of the medieval troubadours. All came together in very lively Early Church service on October 6. Click on image for slideshow.
