Guided Tour of Weeksville Heritage Center
Ten spots available. RSVP required.
Join the Outreach Committee for a step back in time with a guided tour of Brooklyn’s historic houses of Weeksville, one of the largest free Black communities in the pre-Civil War United States. The Weeksville Heritage Center is an historic site and cultural center in Central Brooklyn (158 Buffalo Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11213).
Entrance to the Weeksville Heritage Center itself is free and open to the public. The group tour price is $10 for adults, and $8 for seniors and students. It is free for residents in zip codes 11213 and 11233, children under ten, museum professionals, and holders of NY Passes and Cool Culture Passes.
Email Jane Ehlke (jane.ehlke@gmail.com) to RSVP and arrange payment. No one will be turned away for lack of funds; simply let Jane know if you need a comped ticket. Only the first ten respondents can be included, so don’t delay!
Visit the Weeksville Heritage Center website for more details and photos.
